We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join this manufacturing company. You will be based in Huddersfield but will be required to occasionally travel to the head office in Maidenhead. You can expect to work with large amounts of numerical data, handle multiple tasks with deadlines, and provide transparent and complete reports to management. You should have a firm grasp of accounting and financial practices and regulations and possess good computer skills and strong verbal and written communication skills.

Duties include:

  • Complying with all company, local, state, and federal accounting and financial regulations.
  • Compiling, analysing, and reporting financial data.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Performing audits and resolving discrepancies.
  • Computing taxes.
  • Keeping informed about current legislation relating to finance and accounting.
  • Liaise with the back office team in India on a daily basis.
  • Preparing data for VAT returns
  • Responsible for Bank Reconciliation (BRS), scrutiny of ledger & releasing payments.
  • Collating payroll and related filings
  • Maintenance of books of accounts in Sage/SAP
  • Monthly close of Accounting modules, ensuring monthly Subledger to General Ledger reconciliation.

Other duties:

  • Coordination with CA for Annual Audit up to the completion of audit.
  • Liaison with Government Departments and ensure compliance.

Experience required:

  • Ideally; a degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Experience in the Manufacturing Industry is a must.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask.
  • Proven ability to embrace new technologies. Systems & process savvy with experience in relevant software & financial reporting systems.
  • Advanced to Expert user of: Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word etc.)
  • Strong organisational & communication skills and possess a teamwork mentality.
  • Problem-solving attitude.

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000. We offer excellent benefits, a high-performance culture, challenging work and projects, & competitive financial rewards.
